How to Delete Your DevTricks Account

If you’ve decided that it’s time to part ways with DevTricks, we’re here to guide you through the account deletion process.

Please note that deleting your account is permanent and irreversible. All your posts, comments, media, and personal information will be permanently removed, and your username will become available for others to register.

Step 1: Log Into Your DevTricks Account

Before you can delete your account, you need to be logged in. Here’s how:

1. Visit the DevTricks Website: Go to devtricks.io in your web browser.
2. Access the Login Menu: Click on the user icon located in the upper right corner of the homepage.
3. Choose Your Login Method: Continue with Google, GitHub, or Facebook if you prefer social login. Or click on Continue with Email to log in using your email address.
4. Authenticate Your Account: Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the login process.

Step 2: Navigate to Account Settings

Once you’re logged in:

1. Open the User Menu: Click on your profile icon in the upper right corner.
2. Go to Settings: Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

Step 3: Initiate the Account Deletion Process

In the Settings modal:

1. Scroll to the Account Section: Navigate to the bottom of the Settings modal until you find the Account section.
2. Acknowledge Deletion Intent: Check the box labeled Proceed with account deletion.
3. Activate the Delete Button: Once the box is checked, the Delete Account button will become clickable. Click on it.

Step 4: Confirm Deletion and Finalize

A confirmation modal will appear with the following message:

To proceed:

1. Understand the Consequences: Check the box that says I understand the consequences of deleting my account.
2. Enter Your Password: A password field will appear. Enter your current password to confirm your identity.
3. Delete Your Account: Click on the Delete button to finalize the process.

Important Considerations

• Data Loss: All your data will be permanently deleted. This action cannot be undone.
• Username Availability: Your username will become available to other users after deletion.
• Save Important Information: Be sure to back up any data or content you wish to keep before deleting your account.
